Whim is proud to announce national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council , a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
“As a woman owned Innovation and Technology company, Whim focuses on building market awareness and industry-wide actions to grow an innovation market that advances gender equality and empowerment of women. The entire technology field has received a reputation for being an especially male-dominated and Whim has taken great strides in breaking that stereotype. Whim has made it their mission to celebrate technology advancement and champion the women wielding innovation through technology. This is one of the very core reasons Whim is proud to be a member of WBENC,” states Lori McColl, Founder of Whim.
WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
“The Great Lakes Women’s Business Council is proud to have WHIM-Detroit as one of our newly certified women owned businesses. They have tremendous talent and promise that we are excited to see soar even higher,” according to Michelle Richards, Executive Director, Great Lakes WBC.
By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs.
